What Is an IR Sensor
The IR infrared sensor works on the infrared reflection principle, which is also called the Active infrared sensor. It consists of an infrared transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter emits infrared light, which is reflected by an object (such as a hand) placed in front of the faucet. The receiver detects this reflected infrared light and converts it into an electrical signal, which triggers the faucet to open and release water.
The active infrared proximity sensor is widely used because of its low cost, small size and low power consumption. Our active infrared detection module can work reliably in a 10000lux light environment, pass 4KV/5khz group pulse experiment and pass EMC certification. When the temperature changes from 5ºC to 60ºC, the IR sensor distance changes by less than 8%.
This touchless automatic sensor enhances hygiene (reducing contact with surfaces) and conserves water by controlling water flow automatically.
Function: Automatic on/off. This is the regular function for touch-free basin faucets and water dispensers/fountains. Put your hands/water bottle in the sensor range, and water automatically flows. Move your hands/water bottle out of the sensor range, and the water automatically stops. The water will automatically stop flowing if continuously flowing for 60 seconds (We call this function security stop timing, and this timing can be customised).
